Privacy notice

What we keep, and why.

Plain language, no surprises. Updated September 2026.

Who we are

Watchpost is an alarm-response service for connected buildings. This notice covers this website and the Watchpost service we run for our customers.

What we collect on this website

When you ask for a demo, we keep what you type into the form — your name, work email, company and anything else you choose to tell us — plus a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's name, to stop abuse. We use it only to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list and this site sets no tracking cookies.

What the service stores for our customers

The names, phone numbers and email addresses of the people a customer wants called; the signals the customer's systems send; and the timeline of each incident — who was called, when, and what they answered. Where voice calls are used, the call and its outcome are recorded. Customers decide who is on their lists and can change or remove them at any time.

Why we use it

To do the job we were hired for: tell the right person about an alarm, escalate when nobody answers, and keep a record of what happened. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Who else sees it

Only the service providers needed to deliver a call-out — our telephone and SMS carrier, our email provider, our hosting provider, and, when enabled, an AI model provider that helps classify unusual signals and draft reports. Each receives only what the task needs.

How long we keep it

Incident records are kept for as long as the customer's contract says, so they can be used as proof of what happened. Demo requests are deleted when they are no longer needed to reply to you.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. If you were on a customer's call list, we will pass your request to that customer, who controls the list. Use the demo form on the home page and say it is a privacy request.
